My Work with Leading Experts
Given a mandate following the global financial crisis, I worked closely with Jay over several years training Chief Risk Officers (CROs) in practical aspects of risk management within commercial banks, both global and local. These highly successful sessions sought to underline how the role of a modern CRO requires a mixture of technical prowess across many disciplines with the management skills to embed and promote risk disciplines at the highest levels in the organisation.
Jay appreciates this concept, embracing both the art and the science to risk management, and is well placed to impart this core message to clients.
I know Jay for many years and made several contributions to the country risk programs that he organized during his time at the Institute of International Finance. He is very sensitive to client needs and therefore can delineate such with efficiency. Whenever he saw that a certain region of the financial world needed to expand their capacity for understanding country risk management, he developed a tailor-made program to help local professionals grasp the increasingly complex market, to which I shared my risk expertise in a facilitated environment. Thereby I was always impressed by his knowledge, professionalism and dedication with which he performed his duties.
Jay has exhibited keen insights to delivering the knowledge needs for treasurers and risk executives. He carries integrity to what business proposal he brings to the table. So it was a pleasure sharing my top-down risk management insights to the senior-level audience from various financial institutions.
Jay has the innate ability to work most effectively with people across industries, cultures, and institutions. I had the pleasure of working together with Jay on a number of risk management programs for senior private banking and wealth management professionals from around the world.
He was highly effective and proficient in stimulating participation and facilitating constructive discussions amongst the participants. He was also highly proficient in balancing content and media to ensure the programme material presented was accessible and relevant to all articipants, even though the participants often possessed different levels of subject matter knowledge and regional experience.
